Privacy Policy

What’s a privacy policy?

When you submit data on a website, the website owner uses that data for a particular purpose. A privacy policy is just something to help explain what that purpose is. Most of the time, the website owner just wants to keep in touch with visitors with news or updates, but sometimes, your data might be mined or sold to a 3rd party. In general, you should always read privacy policies, but most people probably won’t.

What do I do with emails?

Simply this: send updates. I don’t intend to email people on my email list more than 3x a month. I personally get annoyed when people I subscribe to email me too much, no matter how much I like their material.

No, I won’t sell your information. No, I won’t spam you. Yes, I will send you the world’ s most awesome blog entries and notes about self-employment and web design.

How do I sign up for Ron’s email list?

If you’ll notice, there’s a little sign up box in the sidebar. It’s my way of encouraging and reminding people to sign up if they like my material. Just enter your name and email. It’s a double opt-in (as required by Federal regulations), so that means you will be sent an email. You must click on the link in that email to verify your subscription.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Of course! I think my material is pretty dang good, but if you think it sucks, feel free to “opt-out.” Just click unsubscribe at the bottom of the emails. The entire unsubscribing process will be taken care automatically by a robot.
